The farm is located in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, in southern India. Extra-long cotton “DCH-32” is grown on organic cotton cultivation farms contracted by Japanese spinning companies. Organic cotton is cotton that has been grown without genetic modification on land that has not used pesticides or chemical fertilizers for more than three years.
In ordinary cotton cultivation, which is not organic, many chemical fertilizers and pesticides are used to stabilize the yield and harvest early because the purpose is mass production.
